Sisler’s Dairy Products began over eighty-five years ago in Ohio, IL. George Sisler ran a mail route and started making ice cream at night and selling it to some of his postal customers. Word spread how good his ice cream was, so he decided to devote all his time to making and selling ice cream. Two of his sons then continued growing the business, Bill in Ohio, and Ed in DeKalb. Noticing the need for ice at many of the restaurants that bought their ice cream they decided to start producing and packaging ice. The companies have since split into two separate entities, with Sisler’s Ice & Ice Cream in Ohio, IL and Sisler’s Ice in DeKalb, IL. Both companies are now in their third generations of management with both using George’s philosophy of a quality product and dependable service at a fair price.
